Testimonials

We always enjoy receiving feedback from people who have purchased or test-ridden the TerraTrike. We invite constructive criticism which we use to continuously improve our products and service, while we also enjoy hearing about the experiences of the people we consider to be in the "Club". Here are a few examples that we are proud to share.

The following are comments that were e-mailed to us or found on public discussion newsgroups.

The TerraTrike was the sensation of the event. It was my second time participating in this event and that it was great to see the city from a different perspective.

Well, I can't be absolutely sure of it, but I believe that I am one of your biggest fans! WW has ALWAYS treated me very well and I make a point of aiming people in your direction!
Not to be irreverent (though I often am!) but asking me about my WW is about like going up to an evangelist and saying "So, tell me about this Jesus guy!" (My father is a minister, so I know wherof I speak on this!)
I wish you and WW the very best in the new year!

Hi David. I bought one of your trikes last fall, and just wanted to tell you that I couldn't be happier with it. I lost my leg in a motorcycle accident 18 months ago, and riding a recumbent trike is great exercise for an amputee. In fact, it's the only exercise program I've ever been able to keep doing for more than a month or so.

Following is a picture of me and my Weimaraner Maggie, who counts our 4-mile rides five days a week as one of the best things in her life. It's neat to watch her running beside the right front wheel in perfect pace. She likes to run around nine miles an hour, and that's comfortable for me too.

Just when I thought my day couldn't get better after work let out early for the holiday, I find the package you just sent in my mailbox. I really do appreciate the excellent customer service you have provided. I plan to continue to use the WizWheelz website to order future accessories for my Cruiser when the need/money presents itself.

Hi, My name is Stephanie and I'm a Wiz-aholic. It's been five hours since my last ride. In pursuit of my newest addiction, whizzing around bike paths across Florida, I have given up all social pursuits, friends, family, and pets unless they can accompany me on my Terra Trike. My cat was not comfortable in the panniers so I'm seeking alternate accomodations for her. I have spent hundreds of hours on web sites searching for paved bike trails within 100 miles of my house and am lobbying local parks to allow night-time cycling. It's 8:00 p.m. and I can ride again at 7:00 a.m tomorrow morning - a mere eleven hours from now. If anyone knows of a job that can be done from the seat of a Wiz Wheel, please write and let me know. Recumbently yours, Stephanie

I went 10 miles on local asphalt trails (with some gravel) with a destination of a local park, which I actually got to. This may not sound like much to you young folk, but I am 52, have MS, and use a walker because I can't walk without it. This trike is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. I keep my feet on the pedals with clip-on sandals, because otherwise, they fall off. I am usually wiped out for several hours after a ride like this, but it is worth a hundred times that.

Thanks for making this tricycle.

Randall, I picked up my Cruiser a little over a week ago and the only thing wrong is I can't stay on it 24/7. I love it and it is all I hoped for. Thanks so much for all your help and for getting it to me as soon as you could (way too slow for me, but if it had been here the next day, even that would have been too slow).

This has brought me back to my childhood, and the joy of riding with comfort (I'm 66). I missed this joy, as I have never been able to find a bike seat that was comfortable. Now I have comfort, stability, freedom, fun and oh so much joy.
Thanks for all of you who had a hand in this marvelous machine. I LOVE IT.

It hasn't been a full 48hrs since I left your shop with my Cruiser and I've already put about 50 miles on it. It is a joy to ride. I have had more than a dozen people ask to try it and where it came from. I've met more of my neighbors in the past two evenings than I had met in the 18 months that I've owned my home. I had a guy offer me $2,000 for it and a lady sit at a green light to wait for me to pass her so she could take a picture with her cell phone. I know that you are busy, but I find that too often in business we only hear about the customer with the problem. Your service was top notch, the price was the best on the market, and the trike is more than I could have asked for. Thanks again for making me part of the WizWheelz family.

Randall,
Just wanted you to know that my husband and I received our Tours yesterday and they are "AWESOME!".....we knew they would be fun, but we had no idea how fun!!!! We have been on three trips in 2 days and can't way until daylight again! The only true downside is getting bugs in your teeth because you can't quit smiling when you ride! Oh well, protein is good for you.

I also wanted to let you know how much we appreciate not only your assistance, but the assistance of Dave at Barr Bike and Fitness in Iowa. He always made time to answer our questions, and he's patient and very knowledgeable. He is obviously selling a product he believes in (and now we know why)......

Thank you all so much for an awesome product and exceptional customer service.....now can you give us any ideas on how to improve the taste of bugs? ;)

I have had my TT for 3 months and now have 1655 miles on the odometer. I ride every day, except when weather stops me, and the minimum ride is 12 miles and the maximum has been 85. Usually, I do a 22 mile circuit. I have not had any flats or malfuctions other than the brakes squealing. The squeal was adjusted out easily. The tires, chain, and idlers still look ok to me, although I did replace all three tires/tubes a few weeks back just to play it safe. My average speed on the trike is 11mph, and the maximum speed is 28 mph according to the cycle computer. Elapsed time for rides have been a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 10 hours.

The comfort of the TerraTrike has been the biggest factor in finally getting into an exercise program that I can consistently stay with. I did a lot of conventional biking prior to the TT, but all the discomfort associated with that discouraged me from consistent daily riding. After each ride, there is only the "good soreness" associated with a nice workout- there is no butt, wrist, or lower back pain. It's so nice to just sit back in that comfortable seat, pop in a good CD in the Walkman, and pedal the miles away, enjoying the scenery as you go along. Just the other day, another trail rider told me it looked like I was about to fall asleep as I went down the trail -- talk about relaxation!

You should market your product as one of the best weight-loss health improvement methods available. The effects of TerraTrike riding on my health have been substantial. My blood pressure has come down, my chloresterol levels have come down, and I have dropped 28 pounds so far -I actually lost 6 pounds over the Thanksgiving - Christmas period- it's not alot, but given the amount of chow I crammed down- it's AMAZING! Maybe you guys can market "the Terratrike Diet"??????? The formula is simply...pig out, then RIDE!

Anyways, just a note of thanks. The TT continues to exceed my expectations and continues to improve my health. I am 46 years old, and feel better than when I was 30, no kidding.

I've had my TT for a little over a year, and I love it! I get a lot of long looks and smiles and even had a car load of teenagers go around the block for a second look and more laughs...I'm very overweight (but losing) so it is quite a display. I don't know if people are laughing with me or at me, but I'm having too much fun to really care! Anyone who rides with me can't keep up, so I have to go in circles to keep them with me. I tried riding an upright bike and could only go a few blocks and felt like I would need to have the seat surgically removed! With my trike I could ride all day it is so comfortable. I am enjoying the trike more than I ever dreamed. Thank you for a wonderful product, it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

The TerraTrike Race arrived yesterday in perfect condition! After a couple of adjustments (my wife made these since right now I am disabled) I managed, with considerable assistance, to position myself on the seat, and took off. Though I had never ridden one before, it took off like a Ferrari, easy to ride, comfortable, fun! My right leg, paralyzed when I suffered a massive stroke last year, will become much stronger by a lot of riding, And I expect almost a full recovery. I have to say the trike is of the highest quality, and the components are superb. I am very happy with it!

Thank you for all your help in purchasing it, and having it shipped so quickly. I am going to enjoy being a member of your "club," and look forward to a friendly association with all of you. By the way, did I tell you that I am almost 78 yrs. old, and that I've been an Episcopal priest for 50 years? It has been a wonderful fulfilling life, and now on this great trike, in retirement, I'll happily zoom around the city of Syracuse!
What more can I ask?

My love and gratitude.

I bought this TerraTrike recently and can't ride it enough. My ten month old daughter Catherine loves it just as much.
We live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and it's flat as a pancake here. Rivers and marshes everywhere so we have plenty of wildlife to ride around and look for.

Last summer, I'd had spinal surgery and can no longer ride my two-wheel. The seat on this trike is really comfortable and allows me to ride for a fairly long time without taking a break. Since my surgery, I can't walk any distances without feeling pain. However, I can ride my trike. I guess the design and shape of the seat is such that my back is completely supported and there is no 'vertical' pressure on the spine. My girl and I go riding everywhere - to the store, to the park... It's just nice to be able to get around again!
Thanks for a great product.

I bought my TT3.6(Tour) last September. I had gone through some major changes in my life and wanted to try to get back into shape. Walking, like I had previously, wasn't a good option. I had a rather wonky knee that needed to be babied. After riding a friend's TerraTrike I was determined to go recumbent and WizWheelz was going to be the bent I chose.

It was a very simple process. I called the folks at WizWheelz and talked to Randall. I don't like ordering online; I want to talk to the folks I buy from. Randall's enthusiasm convinced me I had the "right" company. I "priority" mailed a bank check that same day. I think it was a Tuesday. The following Monday when I went home for lunch, the carton was in my driveway! I could hardly wait to get home from work to get on it and ride.

Since then, I've put over 400 miles on the trike. Now that the weather is getting warmer I've started to ride it to work nearly every day. It's so
much fun to ride I ride it as often as I can. It's a great Trike!

Like most folks "bents," my TT hasn't stayed the way it came. Originally, I ordered the fenders and the trainer (which was a big help when it was too nasty to ride outside). I've since bought the rear rack, panniers, a bike computer, two different headlamps, and tail flashers.

I have ordered the first tandem trike that WizWheelz is making. It'll be mine and keep your hands off it. In the meantime, I have one of the TerraTrikes, and . . . .well, I'm not going to sell it when I get my tandem. I love this trike so much. I've always enjoyed a bike ride, but my TerraTrike has taken away all the minuses and left all the pluses. You can use fancy bike shoes that attach to the pedals without embarrassing yourself by falling over at intersections (oh yeah, like that hasn't happened to you). It's faster than spit.

Of course, that's true for any recumbent trike, so why WizWheelz? Well, Goudeau (The juggler in Lance Burton's show here in Vegas) and I went to the Interbike show and knowing how important a comfortable seat is, we rode every trike there. I don't think we missed one. And WizWheelz was the best. Now, there were others that were the "Best" too. More than one trike can be best and there are some great ones on the market. But there were none better than the TerraTrike. The ones that were just as good cost a lot more money. Now, for big successful Vegas guys, money doesn't matter (and if you believe that, try going to lunch with Siegfried and Roy and see how fast they dive for the check), buy hey, TerraTrikes were just as good, so what am I an idiot?

Now, the WizWheelz boys are right in the middle of these great United States of America and I'm not going to get all xenophobic on you and say that you have to buy American, but, hey, it's closer, right? You can talk to the people in good old American English and they understand and things won't take the rest of your life to get to you from overseas.

The WizWheelz guys are really good guys. Every question we ask, gets an email right back and believe me, we're asking stupider questions than you're ever going to. They either really care a lot about their customers or they do a great job of faking that, and what do you care how they really feel?

They came to see our Penn & Teller show (at the beautiful Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - a wonderful show that everyone loves and no Vegas trip would be complete without), and after the show we went over to our shop and they hung out, told us all about the company, and then put together a couple trikes in a flash for us to ride. We rode them all around behind the Strip and we all had to have them. We've let a lot of people take them for a ride, and every single one that's sat on ours wants to buy one. We've sold so many of these things that the WizWheelz guys should give me my damn tandem for free.

They're just great guys and it's a great product. It's the best and it's the cheapest. If that isn't enough to get you to buy one - well, you and I aren't really going to agree on anything, are we?

I just love my trike! She is named Trixie. I find that I get a wonderful workout on her, especially going up hills. And, on downhills, she goes really fast, much faster than my regular mountain bike. When I ride her, I get smiles from pedestrians, people passing by in cars, and other bicyclists. I think they are jealous because I am having so much fun on Trixie. I wish I had found out about recumbent tricycles 20 years ago. They are so much more comfortable than an upright bike. Unlike the 2 wheeled recumbents, I don't have to worry about balancing or falling. So, I can enjoy my rides and get a wonderful workout! Thank you, WizWheelz, for making such a great product.

Trixie

The other night I was on a long ride and a guy rode up along side of me to talk. He said he'd been trying to catch me for the last 5 miles. His next question was great..."Does it go fast?" Yea, it goes fast.

I'm absolutely thrilled with this bike. For the first time in my life, I'm able to ride over twenty five miles at a time without my wrists hurting, my neck stiff or my butt sore or numb. The only feeling was the satisfaction of a great workout.

Thanks for a great product.

Randall,

It’s been almost two weeks now since I took delivery of my Wiz Wheelz Edge and I wanted to drop you a note to thank you and your outstanding team of builders and designers. What a trike! I love it. You guys built me my dream machine. Everything said about Wiz Wheelz and in particular the Edge is true. When my Edge arrived I opened the box, pulled it out, connected the seat to the rear stays, pumped air into the tires, swapped out the cleats on my shoes, and was off on a ride around the block. You set everything to my X-seam so precisely I didn’t even have to adjust the position of the seat. This has been by far the best purchase experience of my life.

The trike is smooth and responsive, just like the reviews claim. Climbing those steep hills has been no problem. In fact there is one hill on one of my favorite rides that on my previous recumbent marked the turn-around point on my ride. I could never get up the steam to climb it. With my new Edge I attacked that hill and made it to the top. Maybe not as quickly as an up-right bike would have, but hey, I’ve now extended my range and no hill is an obstacle.

Thanks WizWheelz.

I purchased a TT and have to say it is FANTASTIC. Originally I bought it for my wife who LOVES it, but finds it difficult to say the least to get me off it. She told me to get my own, which as soon as I can sell my Titanium Easy Racer I plan on getting a TTR or maybe just a TT with speed drive, not sure yet. One thing FOR SURE is another trike in my stable, I just cant seem to wipe the grin off my face after riding one of your fantastic machines.

Thanks for doing such a great job and I have to agree with everyone else who say's RANDALL is one super guy and a person who really know's his stuff. I have always said that you can have the BEST company but with out the best PEOPLE a company will never survive. GOOD LUCK and keep up the good work, you will be hearing from me again in the near future.

Dear Randall,
Thank you for your prompt response to my emailed questions! I will take your advice. As usual, you represent one of the great features of Wizwheelz--expert and prompt customer support. I feel like I am communicating with my own, personal bike mechanic. Even if I was not impressed with my TT, I would give you all the businesss and references I could because of your company's demonstrated attitude toward your customers! Thank you, again.

I'll just start off with, I LOVE this trike!!
The trike arrived a day earlier than I expected. The first ride: BETTER than advertised. Have spent most of my free time since riding it. This is more fun on a pedal-powered machine than I've ever had. My bike-riding friends are totally impressed with the finish, quality, and how nice it rides. THANK YOU, WW crew, for an outstanding product!!

What a fantastic machine! WizWheelz was first recommended to me by a friend. When I looked at the web page, my interest in the beginning was the fact that it was made in America. Second the simplicity of putting it together and operating it. I purchased a TerraTrike for the purpose of losing weight. I've lost weight, but more than ever I have really enjoyed the peace and tranquility the TerraTrike has given. I highly recommend it to everyone.

TerraTrike 1, Segway 0

This morning, a fellow University employee and I were out riding on a campus errand, me aboard my TerraTrike and James on his dept-issue Segway--those two-wheeled self-propelled gyroscopically-balanced $5K people movers.

Along the way, another staff member hailed us and exclaimed, "I've always wanted to ride one of those!" Thinking that she meant the 'trendy' Segway, James stopped next to her, to which she said, "ok I'll try that too, but it's the TerraTrike I really wanted to ride."

I got the TT! Great packaging, and whoa! the trike is just, ummm pretty! maybe "elegant" is a better word to describe it. It arrived in a smallish box, and was flawless. Thanks so much for your prompt responses to my emails, as well as your communications to me throughout this purchase. I look forward to updating you on the maiden voyage, scheduled for this weekend. So far, an awesome experience! The TT looks really great in the family room too, note to self, buy trainer. Thanks again Randall- your most excellent customer service makes an outstanding product even better!

There's a local guy here who's loaned me his trike for a couple of weeks. I went out for a spin around the block on Saturday, then two hours later I realized I was miles from home and very thirsty. Either I just had an amazing time on the TerraTrike or I was abducted.

Love the TT 3.6, got about 150 miles and rides like a dream. What a difference from a 2 wheel bent. I am impressed, came with no scratches, and ready to ride. Met Randall down in Colorado about two weeks ago. Guess it was the first TT at a bike shop in Fort Collins, Colorado. Thanks Randall and thanks to the building TT team.

I and 29 other Air Force personnel called the World Space Team, just completed the Ride the Rockies, a tour of 2000 riders riding 409 miles in 7 days. It is sponsored mainly by the Denver Post. This is the ninth time I have been selected as it is a lottery. I have two pictures enclosed. One of my TTR overlooking the Moument Valley in Colorado National Park and the other picture is of part of the Space Command team. You will notice the TTR is front and center where she belongs.

I'm 62 years old and in pretty good health, I've ridden mostly Cannondales and always thought they were a good way to go. Then I discovered while surfing the web that just 30 miles from my home was the WizWheelz factory that made this funny looking thing called a trike. After spending much time lurking around on the web site, I thought I might just call over there and go visit and see what this is all about. I made the appointment and drove over there. After spending some time talking with Randall and the other guys, I took a test ride in their parking lot. Oh Oh!! first mistake. Now I had to convince my wife that this is what I wanted because it didn't hurt my back, my shoulders, my butt, my arms or my hands. Now that in it's self is worth writing home about.
Then I needed to convince myself that I need one. That part wasn't bad. I had already decided that I was going to own a Trike, that my butt needed a Trike and I'm sure parts that I won't mention needed to get off that skinny seat and be comfortable while riding.
I could go on and on here, but I'll get to the bottom line. I have one!! And I love the thing. I got the TT 3.6 and all the trimmings. Seat bag, Flag, thing to put my computer (speedo) on, pedals with the shoe clamps on and fenders. Oh am I on a cool machine. This is the smoothest thing on wheels. I do get some funny looks from people in cars and walking. I even get people that are polite and will let me go first at a corner even though they actually have the right a way.
If you are reading this and don't have a WizWheelz TerraTrike, You need to correct that. Get one, Ride one, go test ride one, I'll bet you too will want a Trike. Not just any trike, A WizWheelz Trike. If you are lucky enough to live where you can visit the Factory, or a retail store that handles them, Please do your self a favor and check them out. You can even order from the web site and get it all assembled and ready to ride except for airing up the tires. Randall and the crew will treat you like your are Family.
I'm so happy with mine that I put a link to the WizWheelz site on my web site, and a picture of the trike on my home page. www.quali-tied.com There must be more cyclist out there that are also fisherman. Right?

I am 52 y.o and have progressive MS. Getting on/off a two wheeler was becoming dicey at best. Then my friends put together a fund raiser last year and bought me a Terra trike. What a dream come true! No balance issues at all and the best part is, it allows me to run my new 2 year old dog, Bogie -- he loves it and was not freaked by it from day one.... Without this roadster, I would be dog-less and bike-less (or trike-less). Thanks Wizwheelz for a dynamite vehicle!

Earlier this year I bought a Cadillac SRX. Since then I have been overwhelmed by their stupid questionaires asking whether I bought a Cadillac not for the mechanical and comfort considerations but to impress my friends and improve my virility. I thought "What kind of people buy a car for such shallow reasons?" OK, I just got back from our first ride on our TerraTrike Tandem and I feel so God damm COOOOL. Everybody was stopping, asking and drooling! Now I understand Cadillacs questions. I've just never had a toy that immediately had so many people standing in line to talk to me. With my ego now inflated to this degree what will I ever do to get my helmet to fit again?
Did I mention that that it rides great and my "10 mile wife" is suggesting we take a TRIP on it!

I would like to say that in most cases, when you dream of owning something and anticipate receiving it, the reality is very seldom, if ever, as good as your hopes are. I have been dissappointed many times over my 51 years. The Terra Trike is a happy exception to that. the trike is every bit as wonderful to ride as I had hoped and it is great fun. I just got back from a pleasant ride to our downtown area and back, a trip of about 7 miles total. All along shaded back streets, past a Middle school football game, and along a street that has become an outdoor sculpture display and to our public library. I rode a short distance along the walkway along the river then turned home. I don't know how far I added by my side trips, or the added time due to slowing to see something, or chat with people. You can count me among your most entheusiastic supporters. I wish I could afford a new one! Even though this one is perfectly nice!

Best to you folks and best wishes for your continued success!

Lock it up!!! Unlike other recumbents, the Terra Trike is so darned easy to ride that when I let my 3.4 out of my sight for a few minutes some #@*#@!! rode away on it and I haven't seen it since!! I own several other recumbent two wheelers but I missed my trike so much that I ordered a 3.5. I'm back on three wheels and my bikes are once again hanging in the garage. I love my trike because....
1. Stability - Get tired going up a hill, stop and have a sandwich!!!
2. Safety - No more "Artie Johnson" falls. I'm even more comfortable in traffic than on a two wheeler.
3. Range - I can spend hours and hours on it and when done I just want to ride more. 25 Mile rides with hills and all are now the norm.
4. Fun - You'll have to ride one to find out what pedaling fun really is. Did you ever ride a "Big Wheel" as a kid. I didn't but I watched my kids ride them and now I get to do it at age 60!!

I have taken my TT to Key West City twice on vacation. In March, we hit the same week as Daytona Bike Week. I was humored by the 'respect' Harley riders gave me on my TT. I took a smaller version of a dive flag, and use that for my flag. (seemed like an appropriate theme in the Keys...) What surprised me the most, I have been there twice with my TT, and have never seen another TT. What's wrong with this picture? Oh well, I never was one to shy away from being different :)

Just how strong is a TT?

I had been out for a several hours on my TT and was two blocks from home when I found out just how well made a TT is. I had just turned a corner and was riding in the center of my lane of traffic when I saw a car coming towards me crossing the center line and was heading directly for me. I did all I could do to get out of the path of the car heading towards me but there wasn't enough time. The car struck my TT in the left front wheel and spun me around and knocked me off to the side of the street. I wasn't sure at first if I was seriously hurt but I felt sure my TT must be totalled. The driver was nineteen, no job, no drivers license, no insurance, and didn't own the car. At that time figured then I would be buying a new TT out of my own pocket. The next day when I felt a little better I looked over the TT and all I could see at first glance was a badly bent rim and blown out tire. I got the new rim, tire and tube ordered and disassembled the TT to inspect everything close up. There was no frame damage of any kind. The wheel hub, axle, brake and everything was as new! Now with a new rim, tire and tube I am back on the road. So if you ever here any one questioning How strong are the frames on the TT, do they flex much? Tell them you heard it from one of those test crash dummies "My TerraTrike took on a car head on and had so minor damage it still looks and rides like new" That's one strong tuff made Trike!!

My name is Les Weiser and I'm a 60 year old 48" xseam big guy who has ridden recumbents exclusively for several years. I now own a Bacchetta Corsa, a Rans Stratus and I recently acquired a Terratrike 3.4. I've now owned the trike for about a month and I can't seem to make myself ride anything else. I ease through traffic, and unlike the Corsa and the Stratus feel totally at comfortable with my little Wizwheelz flag flying. I ride almost as fast on the Trike as on my two wheelers but I just have more fun. I also tackle hills on the Trike that made me get off and walk with my bikes. I'm a convert and I may just get rid of the bikes entirely. Thanks Wizwheelz for a great product.

This year I celebrated my 10th Seattle-To-Portland Bike Ride (200+miles) on July 12 and 13th.

It was a unique and memorable ride. Unique, because it was my first STP on a trike - namely, the TerraTrike purchased from WW. Memorable because I had more stares, comments, and questions than I had in the last three times on my partially faired Vision R42. The TT performed admirably, as expected. No mechanical breakdowns, not even a flat tire! Oh, my bottle rack loosened up and around the fifty mile mark I stopped at the top of "the hill" in Puyallup and tightened it. That's it!

There were many comments such as "I have been trying to catch you for a long time" and "Here come's that low rider again". Of course the mostcommon questions were "How is it on hills?" and "How fast can you go?".

The trike handled like a dream with power steering and power brakes. Many times I would find myself doing 20-22 mph on the flats. At mile forty I was averaging 16.1 mph, then came "the hill" and my average dropped way down. However by the time I reached the half-way mark it had popped up to 15.3. By the end of the first day (142 miles) my average settled in at 14.7 mph. Much of the last 42 miles included rolling hills, hot weather, and a tiring 59 year old body.

The second day was a snap with only 68 miles to go (mileage included side trips up the hill to my motel room at Castle Rock). However, the first day's headwinds came back and I settled for 14.7 mph for the two-day ride.

The Portland Finish Line was held at Halladay Park for the first time. It was a gala event. Crossing over the line at 10:45 AM I felt more refreshed and relaxed than I had on my Vision. There is, of course, no comparison to how terrible I used to feel the six times I rode the STP on "up-wrong" bikes.

Last year my Vision stats were my personal best of any STP ride, finishing the 2002 STP with a ride average of 16.3 mph. There are more factors to consider in stat comparison: weather, speed, experience with the vehicle, my physical condition, etc. It will be interesting to see how I do next year (at age 60) with more time and experience on the TT.

So, to close I must say that I'm am a totally converted triker now and won't go back, not even to my (4-sale) Vision two-wheeled recumbent!

Riding home from work on New Year's Eve about 4:45PM another cyclist coming towards me at at least 30 mph (at the bottom of a good hill) ran into me hitting the Terra Trike on the logo of the left wheel arm. The cyclist sailed over my head and his bike stopped dead and fell over in front of me. Not surprisingly, his front wheel was deformed beyond repair. Additionally his top tube had crumpled and bent in two places (about where the double butting would end I suppose) at about 30 degrees. Incredibly, all I had was a flat tire and the wheel was only slightly knocked out of true. This Terra Trike is a tank among trikes! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, at the point of impact there is a black smudge that I can't clean off the bike but the paint job is not compromised! You all have put together a fabulous vehicle as far as I am concerned, the quality really shows in a circumstance like this.

The other cyclist and I are all right and he said he'd seen me and thought he had compensated. We were at a busy intersection with me turning right and him turning left.

Thanks again for such great product. This thing is so much fun to ride I suspect it will be my primary HPV even though my original plan was to get it for foul weather riding.

(On how he first heard about the company): Believe it or not. One evening bright lights woke me up and on the wall written in FLAMES, "Robert, purchase a TerraTrike." Well, what would you do under those circumstances? Not knowing what a TerraTrike was, I searched the internet, found WizWheelz and the TerraTrike. Although I admit that I looked at all the trikes that I could find, the flaming message had to be obeyed, and hence my purchase order.

Hi guys, Well I've had the TerraTrike for about a month now. My compliments on everything!! Lets start with the assembly instructions. I write technical stuff for a living, and your's were pretty good. I assembled the trike myself and then took it to my lbs for a fine-tuning of the derailleurs. I was a little perturbed for the first couple of weeks at how it just wasn't as fast as a "real" bike. I ride with my wife with her on a mtn bike, she said the wheels didn't look quite right when I was peddling. I c-clamped two straightpieces of striping to the wheels and realigned them. What a difference!! They weren't off visually to me but my avg. speed went up 3 mph and my cruising became a dream!! I run along on the flat at 16-18 mph regularly. I've got about 600 miles on it now. And wow is the "TT" cool. Thanks so much for a fine machine.

I was lucky enough to test ride the latest version a few weeks ago--what a blast! The steering is so centered that I found myself accelerating in a straight line . . . no hands! And the disc brakes operate like a dream and contribute to the elegant simplicity of the TerraTrike.

Dear Wayne,
I received my trike and It's wonderful. Terry, owner of a local bike shop put it together for me. He's the best around here. He's a renaissance guy. He runs his shop by day, plays in a symphony orchestra by night, and who knows what else. As a showman he enjoys being observed while he works and has designed his beautiful shop with his immaculate high tech work area on center stage in the middle of the showroom. It's surrounded with glass showcases for the smaller and more expensive items for sale. The arrangement says watch the master at work yet keep a proper distance. He set aside his busiest hours for the WizWheelz show. It drew quite a crowd. As the psychotherapist I was for many years I watched him like a poker player looking for tells. His secret pleasure was obvious. He complained your company misrepresented the assembly time but I knew better. He was looking for encore after encore. I had no reason to expose his filthy little secret because he wasn't wasting time, but rather seeking perfection like many artists. After all it was my trike and I was able to enjoy a part of his performance too. Terry is a good guy like you. The best part was finally riding your trike. It provided pure joy in riding and the attention I've always deserved. Even though I know very little about cycles I could feel the quality like that tight responsive feeling of a good new Toyota. Thank you very much. My cardiovascular system thanks you too. It's been a true pleasure doing business with you and by the way; the crunchy Jiffy peanut butter was very tasty and very funny.

What the deal with the PB? Here's Gerry's explanation:
After exhaustive research on the topic of recumbent trikes I realized they cost more than the rusty two wheeler I purchased from a garage sale. Even though WizWheelz offered a great value and a great price, I was shocked at having to pay more than five dollars. So I spoke with Wayne, one of the owners of WizWheelz. I told him I'd have to eat peanut butter sandwiches after paying for the trike. I thought he was joking when he said he would include a jar of peanut butter with the bike. I like his sense of humor. When the trike arrived I laughed out loud when the box also included a jar of crunchy peanut butter.
