An informal recumbent rally held near the new WizWheelz TerraTrike manufacturing facility. The rally gives interested newcomers a chance to learn about recumbents, test ride different recumbent bikes and trikes, and talk to experienced recumbent riders and the WizWheelz crew. A tour of the new WizWheelz plant will be offered. Dealers and manufacturers are invited to show off their products.

When:

Saturday, July 14, 2007
10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Where:
Bowen Station Park - Kentwood, MI

The park is located on the Paul Henry Bike Trail, just a quarter mile west of the new WizWheelz facility just south of 44th Street between Kalamazoo Street and Stauffer Street.

Bowen Station Park is a great place for this event. We have rented the entire park for the rally. It is right on the bike trail and has a large covered pavillion with many picnic tables. There are restroom facilities, a playground for the kids with shade trees, plenty of parking, and it's just a quarter mile down Bowen Street from the WizWheelz facility.

Cost:
  Completely Free
Details:

The Michigan Recumbent Rally West is an opportunity for recumbent enthusiasts and novices alike to check out the latest recumbent bikes and trikes, swap stories, gain technical knowledge, and ride through some of West Michigan's most beautiful countryside. It is also a great place for first time buyers to test ride and even purchase a trike.

Area Recumbent Shops, Homebuilders, and Manufacturers will be in the park from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM to offer test rides, and talk shop.

Experts will be on hand to answer all of your recumbent related questions.

At 11:00 AM an organized tour of the WizWheelz TerraTrike shop will begin for those who are interested in learning how the TerraTrikes are made. Here is the map to the shop.

At noon there will be a break for lunch. Feel free to bring your own picnic lunch or take advantage of the dozens of restaurants within a mile or two from the park.

At 1:30 PM two organized rides will be lead from the park. The short ride will be a 5 mile out and back ride along the Beautiful Paul Henry Bike Trail. The longer ride will be approximately 20 miles long with the route to be determined. This ride is reserved for experienced recumbent riders who are capable of keeping up with the group.
